Saint Peter Central Catholic School is a community of learners.  We nurture children from Preschool through Grade Eight. We provide a caring atmosphere and a sense of belonging by acknowledging each individual. Within our Catholic, culturally diverse community, we endeavor to enrich and foster the intellect and spirit of all who enter. Our environment encourages children to reinforce their connection to God, to make responsible decisions, and to reach their academic potential.

Have a Safe and Wonderful Summer!

Science Fair: Congratulations to Peter DelMastro and Lucas Arndt for placing 1st in the Diocesan Science Fair held at Assumption College on May 26.  Peter and Lucas’s project was “Does solar power compare with electricity”?   Nick Erskine received an Honorable Mention for his project on “Does multi tasking affect driving a car”? Michaela Sebok also received an Honorable Mention for her project on “Which stage of a strawberry will extract the most DNA?”  Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Diocesan Science Fair.  We are proud of you!

Breakfast Book Club: Our Breakfast Book Club had their final meeting with the announcement of the winner of the Massachusetts Children’s Book Award for 2009: The Mysterious Benedict Society.  We had 27 members of the book club this year.  Great job to everyone for completing your books!  Congratulations to Evan Sutherland, Adriano Soares, Michaela Etre and Marisa Etre for participating for three years that they were eligible.  Happy reading over the summer!

A Tree Grows at S.P.C.C.

On Thursday, April 16, a tree was donated by the City of Worcester to be planted in our schoolyard to commemorate Arbor Day.  Kindergarten teacher, Melody Grady’s husband John, who works in the city’s Forestry Department, came with other members of the Department to plant an Autumn Cherry tree on the side of our schoolyard.

We thank him and the City of Worcester for this gracious gift.
